Winter support

Colchester Borough Council is providing support for residents, businesses and communities throughout winter.

Get involved with tree planting

When the Colchester Woodland and Biodiversity Project launched in 2019, we committed to plant 200,000 trees over 5 years. Whilst tree planting is just one part of this fantastic project, it’s one where you can get involved and play your part

In January and February we will be running a number of planting events that you can get involved in. You can find the locations and dates below.

Book a place on a plant event

Due to Covid-19 social distancing restrictions you will need to pre-register using the online form and choose a timeslot to come along and plant. You can either book a slot for yourself or with your household bubble. Social distancing measures will be in place on site to keep everyone safe. Timeslots for planting are half an hour, allowing lots of you to get involved.

Once you’ve booked your time slot you will receive all the information you need prior to the event via email, including details of meeting point and what you need to bring along on the day. To ensure we keep to guidance around protecting everyone from Covid-19 we will require people to bring their own spades and gloves.
