The Council submitted its emerging Local Plan alongside Tendring and Braintree District Councils to the Secretary of State in October 2017 and Examination hearing sessions were carried out in January and May 2018. Following the hearing sessions, the Inspector wrote to the North Essex Authorities with his post-hearing session findings.
While praising the ambition of the Council, the Inspector raised a number of concerns with the soundness of the submitted Local Plan. After reviewing the Inspector’s findings, the Council reaffirmed its commitment to Garden Community principles and set about preparing a revised evidence base to address to the Inspector’s concerns.
