New Rubbish Collections for 2017

A summary of the recent changes to our recycling and rubbish collection service that started on the 20th of June.

A maximum of three black bags per household
A two week collection of black bag rubbish
No free black bags in the annual delivery
Free clear bags in the annual delivery
Free white garden bags
A second, free green box
New wheelie bin collections in certain areas such as:
- Mile End
- Greenstead
- Old Heath and The Hythe (excluding The Hythe and Rowhedge)
- Shrub End
- Stanway
- Berechurch

There has been a change of collection day for 18% of households so if you are unsure what day we collect from your home or if you are new to the area and need to find out, you can enter your postcode here to check.

Don't forget to also download your recycling calendar to keep on track with your collections.

Euro Wheelie Bin

If you live in a flat and have communal rubbish collections, using large Euro wheeled bins, these changes don't affect you so just carry on as normal.

If you are recycling as much as you can and are still unable to meet the limit of three black bags every fortnight we would suggest that you apply for an exemption.

Please note that by submitting a request for an exemption you will be called by one of our Recycling and Waste Officers and that you are agreeing to a visit from a Community Zone Warden who will carry out an inspection of your waste.
